I have been blogging for a little while now, and so far it’s been a blast. It was the outlet I needed, and I have enjoyed the community of writers that I follow, and follow me. It’s become a part of my daily life, and I am truly grateful to have it.
The other day, my man over at eternal Domnation provided me with a cool surprise, my first blogging award, The Reader Appreciation Award. It’s a nice feeling, thanks much.
So the requirements of the award are pretty simple: first nominate six of my fellow bloggers to pass the baton. Here are six blogs my nominations – all great blogs, and as I run in a few different circles due to my general lack of focus, there’s some nice variety here as well.
I follow about 80 blogs currently, so if I missed ya, know that I will catch you the next time around — if I am so honored.
Part two of this award is the task of telling you about my current activities. Well, I’m busier than ever. That keeps me off the streets, and everyone should be very happy to hear that.
A couple weeks ago, I took a new teaching position in a Creative Writing BFA. I’m teaching research for world-building and I think that I may have finally found the job that brings my interests and skills together. For once. Man, somebody pinch me. This is making my days go by in a blink, and I have the feeling that I will not be able to post as much as I have been (hold your applause, you sarcastic bastards.)
I am also fighting the clock to carve out time for my final round of content revisions for my novel, Leather to the Corinthians, which will definitely be out later this year. I also put up a chapbook of some of my poetry on Kbuuk, a fledgling e-book distributor. I like ground floor action, and I am excited to see where they go. They are currently looking for authors, so you might want to take a look. I’ll be writing more about them in the future, when the book formatting and the book reader are kicking ass.
Lastly, I am committing to getting out and doing more spoken word, and if I get my grading done tonight I am heading out to a open mic gig down the street. Let’s see what they are all about. More on that if I have a good time.
Thanks for reading my blog, it puts fuel on my fire every day.
