You’re Moving into a Land of both Shadow and Substance

rodIt’s the writer’s job to menace the public consciousness.

It is difficult to produce a television documentary that is both incisive and probing when every twelve minutes one is interrupted by twelve dancing rabbits singing about toilet paper.

Yesterday was of course Christmas, but also the birthday of one of my literary heroes, Rod Serling. The genius behind The Twilight Zone — I never get tired of watching it. He believed in writing with purpose, addressing social issues, and making people think. How many writers are you reading right now that are doing their job?

Happy Belated Birthday, Rod!

  1. Remember the episode where the guy wished to be left alone and just have all the time in the world to read? I so related to that! And then everyone was gone and his glasses broke! The first time I saw that episode I was a bookworm nerd in grammar school and it really freaked me out!!
