Last weekend I rocked the house at the Speculative Fiction: Southeast writing conference. Seriously.
I sold a bunch of books, sat on a world building panel with Orson Scott Card and I was interviewed on a new literary show — Hangin’ With Authors.
Oh, and I also debuted my new fez. This damn hat has changed my life permanently and for the better.
Host G.W. Pomichter struck me as an incredibly nice guy who has sincere goals for his latest YouTube enterprise. If you have some time, check it out. I had a blast doing it! If you enjoy, perhaps check out some of his other interviews.
Sorry for the late notice!
I’m speaking on a panel at Full Sail University as a part of its Hall of Fame week. The panel is all about self-publishing: the ins and outs, the whys and wherefores, the do and the do nots.
The panel will be streaming live on YouTube and is instantly archived so if you can’t tune in tonight, I hope you will catch up with me soon after.
Beside kicking the science, I’ll be debuting a new sport coat, so please join tonight at 7pm EST right here:
My press tour continues with my recent interview with Kim Smith, host of the Writer Groupie podcast.
Kim is a warm and fun host who was not familiar with bizarro fiction but was eager to learn all about it. I’m new to the scene myself, so I sincerely hope that I did it justice.
Some of the things I talked about (the interview is nearly 30 minutes long):
- Bizarro Fiction
- My new book, Pax Titanus
- The writing life
- And apparently, the best writing advice she has ever heard.
Kim has this interview posted in a couple convenient locations:
Her website: Kim Smith: Author
The Writer Groupie YouTube Channel
She also has her podcast on iTunes and I know I will be over there soon as well.
Thanks to Kim for having me on her show. If you have a minute, check out Writer Groupie on Facebook and like her page. She’s good people, and we all know there ain’t many of those around.
Recently I posted an audio download of my spoken word piece, Come a Little Closer. Since then, I have been messing around a bit with video editing, and I have put together a “music” video version of this piece. If you liked the audio download, then I think you’ll like this. If not, see you next time. I am hoping to do more of these in the future, and if anyone out there is a true video artist and would like to collaborate, please contact me, I am sure you’ll do much better than I did.
And now, the world premiere of Come a Little Closer!
Rather just listen? Here you go: Come a Little Closer: Audio Download
Rather just read it? Hrmm. Fine, here’s Come a Little Closer
Love to know what you think of my first effort. Thanks.
